We recommend Trillian to manage your IM accounts. You can get it here. -->
Ventrilo Ventrilo allows the student to hear what is happening in the classroom and to talk with the Instructor and/or other students. Call this the voice communications piece.
Use Ventrilo to listen and talk to your class using Ventrilo voice communications. Please don't forget your headset.

Download the Venrilo client for Windows (ventrilo-3.0.1-Windows-i386.exe).
VNC VNC allows the student to watch what is happening on the Instructor's computer. Call this the visual communications piece.
Use VNC to view the class by watching the common desktop.
There is no browser link that will run VNC. I do have a VNC connection file that you can download and save. Double-clicking on that will then run VNC and connect you to the remote desktop for class. Download 134.29.175.75-View.vnc.
There is also a VNC session file that displays the desktop at 90% (134.29.175.75-View-90%.vnc) and one at 80% (134.29.175.75-View-80%.vnc). Use these if the class desktop does not fit onto yours. The classroom desktop is running 1280x1024 resolution. If you screen resolution is not larger that this then try the 90% or 80% view.

If you don't have the client, we mainly use TightVNC and you can get it here (tightvnc-1.2.9-setup.exe). TightVNC has some advanced options that make it very useful.
Some anti-virus software mistakenly strips out the TightVNC server because it allows remote access to your PC. Their are ways around this but I won't go into them here. You don't need the server for Remote Classroom so its no big deal. We can help work together later if you want to play with the server and your anti-virus software messed it up.

We also use another VNC package called UltraVNC that works just as well and most anti-virus software does not tag the UltraVNC server. If you want to play with it, you can get it here (UltraVNC-102-Setup.exe).
ReverseVNC Reverse VNC allows the Instructor to see and interact with the student's computer. Call this the reverse visual communications piece.
Use ReverseVNC to invite me to view or manage your desktop.
Reverse remote classroom
There is no browser link that will run ReverseVNC. I do have a ReverseVNC connection file that you can download and save. Double-clicking on that will then run ReverseVNC and connect your desktop for viewing and control to the remote Instructor's desktop. Note that this will only work if the Instructor's desktop is set to receive your connection. Download ReverseVNC (RRC.exe)
